Black Dog

Synopsis:

After spending more than ten years in prison, Lang returns to his old town to try to get his life back on track. With few job opportunities and facing constant harassment from the police and a powerful family trying to avenge Lang's murder, he agrees to join a patrol formed to round up all the stray dogs in the area. A close relationship develops between him and a black dog that has developed a dangerous reputation. In Black Dog, celebrated filmmaker Guan Hu, a member of the so-called sixth generation of Chinese filmmakers, develops one of his most poetic and humanistic proposals, highlighting the social despair also present in the work of his contemporaries.
