Synopsis
Drama about the Church of Scientology. Lancaster Dodd (Philip Seymour Hoffman), a brilliant intellectual with strong convictions, creates a religious organization that begins to become popular in the United States around 1952. Freddie Quell (Joaquin Phoenix), a young vagabond, becomes his right-hand man. . However, when the sect triumphs and manages to attract numerous and fervent followers, Freddie will have doubts.
